What's Covered?

  • Cover for up to £2,000 per claim for plumbing emergencies inside your home and you can make up to 3 claims a year
  • Cover for up to £4,000 per claim for blocked individual drains within your property boundary that are your sole responsibility and you can make up to 2 claims per year
  • Up to £500 towards hotel accommodation - in the event your home is uninhabitable for 48 hours or more
  • 2 hour emergency response aim - an approved plumber will aim to be with you in 2 hours.

  • Central heating breakdowns
  • Maintenance e.g. replacing tap washers
  • Existing problems
  • Replacing tanks, cylinders, sanitary ware or radiators
  • Guttering, down pipes and rainwater drains
  • Drains (sewers) for which you do not have responsibility
  • Underground water supply pipe.

What is effective cost of cover?

Your policy starts the day your application is processed. To prevent claims on pre-existing problems and to keep premiums low, there's an initial period of 14 or 28 days where you'll not be covered, giving you either 11 or 11 and a half months' cover in your first year. The actual period applying to the policy is detailed above and in the Summary of Cover and Terms and Conditions.

The Effective Cost of Cover is, therefore, the monthly price for the period over which you can claim in your first year. It is calculated by dividing the annual premium by either 11 or 11 and half months, depending on the specific no-claim period.

Eligibility

All homeowners are eligible to apply unless the property is a flat, maisonette, mobile home, bed-sit, in multiple occupancy or is used for commercial premises, in which case the property can't be covered. Council or Housing Association tenants will not need this service.
